You’ll have unlimited email support.
What A 90-Minute Group Session Looks Like
– Wins? Challenges? Observations?
– What are you hoping to walk away with/discuss from group today?
– Addressing participants intentions
– This will look different each session & will be based upon the needs of group.
(Some examples: Embodiment V body image; vulnerabilities that set us up for binge eating experiences; the importance of regular eating patterns; feelings & food; self-soothing/grounding tools; body cues V thoughts.)
WHAT YOU’D PERSONALLY LIKE TO EXPLORE UNTIL WE NEXT MEET
What You Can Expect from Group
A non-judgmental, fat-positive, Health at Every Size® (HAES) , intuitive-eating aligned group.
A space where you can come, process, learn, and be.
Addressing the fundamental pieces that are driving binge eating (not just trying to “stop binge eating”).
Nutrition & health from a non-weight focused, non-diet approach.
Tools, approaches & techniques that you can begin using immediately in your daily life to help you nurture the kind of relationship you actually want to have with food and your body.
WHAT DOES EMBODIMENT MEAN?
I use embodiment here to describe the ability for you to connect with your body and “feel into” your body and respond to that information in a caring, aligned way for you. It’s based on something called interoceptive awareness, which is the backbone of intuitive eating and self-care. Our body is constantly giving us cues (physical cues, like hunger and satiety and emotional cues, like anxiety and sadness). What would it look like for you to respond to those cues in a caring, timely manner and to kindly “be with” and “in” your body, even during times of distress? Embodiment is at the heart of body image healing work, and the difference between these two things is something we’ll explore.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY WEIGHT?
I have no idea. Weight typically does one of three things, it goes up, down, or stays the same. Weight depends on so many factors and it’s something I don’t focus on for many reasons. I approach this work, as I do all of my work, in a non-diet, non-weight focused manner, where we focus on whole-person health, not body size. Because there is a difference. If you’re interested more in how I work, please read my about page here.
I RATHER DO 1:1 WORK. DO YOU DO THAT?
Yes, you can find other ways in how we can work together here.
I IDENTIFY AS AN “EMOTIONAL EATER.” COULD THIS GROUP BE FOR ME?
If you called by what you’ve read, YES.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN GROUP?
Between 3 & 6.
I HAVE A QUESTION NOT LISTED HERE.
