A Mistake Most Women Trying to Feel Healthier & Happier Make


My husband’s legs are smaller than mine.

I remember when I first realized this during our dating days.

I walked right up next to him, put my thigh next to his thigh and exclaimed, “My legs are bigger than yours!”

My ego wanted him to say, “No, they’re not.”

Even though I knew they were.

But instead, he said, “Yea, so?”

I stared at him a few seconds not knowing what to say.

I felt hurt and frustrated at the same time. But, I knew these feelings weren’t logical.

He could see how weird I felt and quickly said, “I love your legs.”

I remember muttering thanks and moving on from the conversation. It was pretty clear that it was my stuff coming up, not his.

A couple years later, here’s what I can tell you.


The size of your thighs don’t matter (even if they’re bigger than your partners).

What matters is if you’re taking care of yourself.

At the time this “thigh incident” occurred, I was working a job that had me clocking in 13-hour days.

I wasn’t sleeping enough, making time for exercise, or eating food I enjoyed. I was in a constant state of anxiety and exhaustion.

I didn’t feel good in my body.

Not because my thighs were (and still are) bigger than my husband’s. But because I wasn’t taking care of myself on a holistic level – from rest to exercise to food.

And this is the part we’re missing when it comes to feeling healthy and happy in our bodies.
The part where we just take care of ourselves.

You see, it’s not about shrinking ourselves to worthiness. It’s about caring for ourselves into health and happiness.

And the only way to do that is to make time for it.

Here’s one of my favorite sayings: Take your time, but don’t forget to make the time.

Because there’s a huge difference between the two.

So – here I am – with a simple reminder for you to make the time.

To laugh. To move. To make dinner. To journal. To sit for just 2-minutes and be. To allow yourself to feel. To do something that will make you a better, healthier, happier you.

I promise you’ll feel better.

So – what will you make time for?
