You Just Can’t Avoid This… (Sorry)…

Over the last 8 years, as a registered dietitian + food and body image coach (and more recently, as a successful ex-matchmaker turned dating coach), one of the most damaging things I see in the world of healing, coaching, programs, and so on is the belief that there’s something wrong with you because “you’re not there yet.”

The belief that feeling pain, suffering, guilt, shame or whatever uncomfortable emotion means that there’s something – again – not right about what you’re doing.

BUT… What if the uncomfortableness was a part of your healing journey?

I can’t tell you how many moments I’ve had like that. Those moments – where you just throw everything aside and lie face down, hair unwashed, insides all tangled up – thinking you’ve failed…

This could be in regards to hating on your body, feeling crazy around food, not having the love life you desire, struggling in business or just feeling trapped… Heck, life can be complicated, my dear sweet friend.

I acknowledge this fact almost every single day lately, especially with all the transitions going on (baby on the way, fostering a dog baby, new home, growing clients + programs).

But one of the most comforting things – for me in my world – is knowing that suffering is a part of the human experience. Just last week, I was talking with guest Paige Smathers about this for an upcoming episode of HeartSpace Podcast.

Knowing that these sometimes incredibly hard feelings are a part of life and a part of being a living, breathing human being on planet Earth with a human body and human emotions is extremely comforting to me…

I share this because most of my clients are struggling… With the food and body image stuff, intuitive eating, and with all the murkiness that goes along with dating…

And maybe you are too.

BUT… Here are the questions I want you to think about…

What if you stopped trying to push away the hard?

What if you decided to believe that things are working for you, not against you?

What if you allowed yourself to surrender? NOT give up. But surrender to what is, step out of your fear, and start trying things a new way, slowly building momentum, moment by moment?

What if you stopped trying to push yourself so damn hard and instead, started treating yourself with compassion?

What if you realized that your time on this planet – ALL of our time – is limited? How would you want to spend it? And would you then let the “small” stuff get you down…?

You see, when I need a reality check… This is what I bring myself back to… Will this matter in 5 years? Let alone in one month? Is this how I want to spend my time here?

Wherever you are on your healing path, I just want you to know…

You are not alone…

Suffering and the hard stuff is a part of our lives – ALL of our lives – accepting this can be so friggin’ liberating because you can then realize that…

There’s nothing wrong with whatever it is you’re moving through…

And the moving through part, instead of the “moving around” part, which most of us usually do to avoid hard things… Is SO important…

Because you then can come out on the other side…. Slowly, but for sure, surely.

So on that note.. know…

You can do this.

There is no “there.”

And there’s a lot more out there for you that is about SO much more than your jean size, what you “should” or “shouldn’t” eat, or your relationship status. In fact, usually once you accept where you’re at – and fully embody it – you can then tune-in and make the next best decision for you.

I’m not saying it’s easy… This is hard stuff… But, I am saying it’s worth it… And you deserve to be set free.

BIG love,
Corinne

P.S. “Ditch” is now open for enrollment for a short time only… Will I see you there?
